Halifax police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for a fourth suspect in a drive-by shooting in the city's north end.

Police have charged 26-year-old Andrew Jason Hudder with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault with a weapon and nine weapons offences.

He is considered armed and dangerous.

At 2:15 in the morning of Saturday, Nov. 3, shots were fired at a taxi driving on Robie Street in north-end Halifax. Police said the shots were fired from a small silver vehicle which fled the scene. No one was hurt.

Hours after the shooting, Corrections Canada suspended Hudder's parole.

He was free after serving time for his part in a series of firebombings in 2006. In assessing Hudder's case, the Parole Board of Canada noted the firebombing were part of an attempt to intimidate a rival gang in a drug feud. Hudder has been linked to known gang leader Jimmy Melvin Junior.

The Parole Board released Hudder, even though he has been assessed as a high risk to re-offend.

In the summer of 2009, during a previous parole, Hudder was himself the target of a shooting attempt. Shots were fired at him while he was on his way to a haircut at a salon on Spring Garden Road. His parole privileges were revoked as a result.

Hudder is the fourth person to face charges in connection with the drive-by shooting. Three men were arraigned on attempted murder charges during separate court appearances earlier this week. Hudder is the only one of the four shooting suspects still at large.

Police are cautioning the public not to approach him.
