Police say the victim was lying on the sidewalk when they arrived on scene. (CBC)Halifax Regional Police have arrested a 20-year-old man after a shooting Sunday morning sent another man to hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.
Police canvassed the area after they were called to Demetreous Lane where a crowd had gathered around 5:15 a.m.
The 19-year-old victim, who was lying on the sidewalk, was rushed to hospital where he was treated for his injuries and later released.
Police arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with the incident at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the area where the shooting took place. He is being held in custody pending a police interview.
Police have also seized a vehicle from the street close to where the man was shot.
Halifax Regional Police are also investigating another shooting that took place Saturday evening on Mic Mac Street in Halifax.
A shot was fired from a vehicle at two men who were standing outside a home on the 3400 block of the street at around 9:30 p.m., said police.
The vehicle fled the area and police said they have not been able to get a description of it. The two men who were fired at were not injured and are not co-operating with police.
