Drivers can expect a change at their local gas station two days earlier than usual after the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board announced it will invoke the interrupter clause and adjust prices at midnight.

In a release, the UARB said it is making the change because of significant shifts in the market price of gas.

The UARB can invoke the change anytime there is a major fluctuation in price either up or down. The board won't say which way the price is going, but CBC News is predicting a drop of six cents a litre.

Diesel will not be included in Tuesday night's price change. The UARB said it will still announce its regular weekly price adjustment on top of the interruption.
