Halifax Regional Fire officials say a fire at a pizza shop on Robie Street early Tuesday morning is suspicious and have turned the file over to police.

A passerby spotted smoke coming from the Pizzatown at Robie and Russell streets just after 1:30 a.m. Investigators said the fire started at the pizza shop and the smoke spread to and damaged six adjoining businesses.

There were no injuries.

Investigators told CBC News they are focusing on the possibility there was a break and enter at the pizza shop and the fire may have been deliberately set.
