The price of gas has dropped across Nova Scotia by 6.1 cents a litre, one day earlier than usual after a sharp drop in fuel prices on international markets.
A litre of regular gas in Halifax costs $1.37.3.
In a release, the Utility and Review Board said it is making the change because of significant shifts in the market price of gas.
The UARB can invoke the change anytime there is a major fluctuation in price either up or down.
This is only the third time the regulator has used the interrupter clause.
Diesel has not changed.
The UARB said it would still announce its regularly weekly price adjustment on top of the interruption.
