A 39-year-old man has died of his injuries after a crash Thursday morning on Highway 101 in the Annapolis Valley.
Two people were airlifted, one in a military plane, to a Halifax hospital after the crash near Bridgetown East, police said.
RCMP Sgt. Brigdit Leger said the man was driving a Chrysler Intrepid that crossed the centre line.
A 60-year-old woman driving a Honda Civic has serious injuries.
Both drivers had to be cut from their vehicles using the Jaws of Life.
They were taken to the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre.
Police and rescue officials responded at about 7:45 a.m. and closed the road between exits 19 and 20.
The highway opened early Thursday afternoon.
RCMP are still investigating.
