RCMP divers in Nova Scotia have recovered the body of a 23-year-old man in Dollar Lake, near the Halifax Stanfield International Airport.

Dollar Lake, NS

Police were called to Dollar Lake Provincial Park Saturday at around 6:45 p.m. after the man ran into trouble while swimming with friends.

"He attempted to swim from one side of the lake to the other, during his swim he had difficulty. He surfaced, went under the water again and wasn't seen," said RCMP Cpl. Scott MacRae.

The search was called off at 9 p.m. Saturday because of darkness.

The beach was closed while the search continued.

Divers entered the water today at about 9 a.m. and found his body about an hour later.

RCMP say the man was from China, but aren't releasing his name until next of kin are notified.
