Drivers are paying eight cents more for gas heading into this Labour Day long weekend compared to last year in Nova Scotia.
The price of gas increased by four cents a litre overnight to $1.38, in Halifax, while at this time in 2011 it was $1.30 a litre.
Prices are higher outside the city.
The Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board sets maximum petroleum prices in the province.
