The downtown Halifax location of the Chickenburger is becoming more wheelchair accessible after disability advocates vocalized their beef with the restaurant.

Workers started building a ramp Monday and expect it be ready by the end of the week.

"It's a wooden structure and it's on the front, I guess the side of the building, right next to the glassed-in area. It provides access up to the main entrance from the front of the building on Queen Street," said Colin MacDonald the general manager of the Chickenburger.

Renovations are also being done to make the washrooms more accessible.

Earlier this month, disability advocates asked for a boycott of the restaurant until it built a ramp.

The Bedford Chickenburger location is on ground level and the attached ice cream stand has a ramp.
