The veterans' memorial hospital was without air conditioning for just over 24 hours. (CBC)The air conditioning is working again at the Camp Hill Veterans' Memorial Building in Halifax after a 24 hour malfunction.
A part of the cooling system broke on Monday and had to be flown in from Toronto. The building's air conditioning was restored around 9 p.m. Tuesday night.
In the meantime, patients were given extra water to drink and the windows in the hospital were opened.
There is space for 175 veterans in the hospital.
The air conditioning problem follows complaints about lack of hot water at the Halifax Infirmary, and earlier this month Veterans Affairs Minister Steven Blaney announced he'd appoint a dietitian to review the food at Camp Hill after veterans complained about the quality.
