Lino, a Brazilian, green parrot, is also multilingual (Courtesy of family)A family in Clayton Park West is offering a $1,000 reward for Lino, a Yellow-headed Amazon parrot, who escaped from their home earlier this month.
Lino was brought to Halifax from Brazil and lives with Tino Klironomos' parents.
He has had his wings clipped, but went missing when the garage door was accidentally left open.
"He's a freak escape artist, it was like a little Houdini trick," said Klironomos.
The reward was originally posted at $200, but the family increased the reward to $1,000 as the days wore on.
"He's like their third kid…it's like looking for a lost child," said Klironomos.
"You don't know if he's dead or alive."
Lino, a combination of Tino and his wife Lena's names, can speak Portuguese, Greek and Portuguese.
"He knows people's faces. He's a smart bird," said Klironomos.
Some residents in Clayton Park West said they've seen a green parrot on their balconies or heard the bird's unique whistle in the area.
Lino is green with a yellow patch on his head. The family said he talks, sings and laughs.
