Halifax Regional Police are investigating an assault that happened around 12 p.m. Saturday in Bedford.
A 43-year-old woman was walking her dog on the path near Shore Drive when she was knocked to the ground by an unknown male.
During the brief struggle, the woman's dog may have bitten the suspect, police said.
The suspect then fled the scene.
The man is described as a white male, believed to be in his 40s, with a stocky build, standing under six feet in height with red-dyed curly hair. He was wearing a golf shirt with horizontal stripes that were yellow, blue and green.
Halifax Regional Police is requesting anyone with information on this assault to contact them or Crimestoppers.
