Police have charged a principal from Lilydale, Brian Jobb, with accessing and possessing child pornography.
A division of the Toronto police department, which monitors suspicious behaviour on pornography websites, flagged Jobb's Internet Protocol (IP) address.
They then alerted the Internet Child Exploitation Unit and the ICE team in Nova Scotia, which raided Jobb's Lunenburg-area home last month and seized computer equipment.
Jobb, 62, had a long career with the South Shore Regional School Board.
He began as a teacher at the school and through his 34-year career, worked his way up the ladder, becoming principal of Lunenburg Academy. He held that position until his retirement in 2006.
Jobb worked as a substitute teacher after his retirement and was active with the Lunenburg Mariners swim club.
In a statement released to CBC News today, the South Shore Regional School Board said Jobb is no longer on their list of approved substitutes.
Jobb is not due in court on these charges until Dec. 19. Until then, the RCMP's Information Technology (IT) experts will have time to go over the equipment they seized, to determine exactly what Jobb might have been viewing.
