One woman died in the Friday crash on Highway 107. (CBC)

A woman in her late 40s has died in a collision on Highway 107 east of Dartmouth, say police.

RCMP say the Honda Fit she was driving crossed the dividing line and collided with an oncoming Audi that was passing a pickup truck after 12 p.m.

The Audi spun around from the force of the impact and hit the truck.

The female driver of the Honda Fit was airlifted to hospital where she died from her injuries.

The driver of the Audi suffered minor injuries and the three occupants of the pickup truck were uninjured.

RCMP closed the road between exits 17 and 18 for several hours.

Police say they're investigating the cause of the collision.
