Fire officials in Halifax lifted the open air burning ban for the area on Friday.
The province's forest fire index shows most counties are at a low or moderate level.
Still the city says residents using bark mulch in and around their homes should be careful. The combination of rain and warm temperatures can cause mulch fires.
Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency recommends watering the mulch.
