Two Halifax residents are facing close to 20 charges following an investigation into their finances, say police.

The RCMP has charged Sean Decker, 41, and Jacqueline Christine Garnett, 33, with several counts of money laundering and possessing the proceeds of crime.

Police say the total value of the assets they've seized is close $750,000. They include a condominium, jewelry and several vehicles.

Last October, RCMP arrested and charged nine people, including Decker, following a large-scale drug investigation in which police seized hockey bags filled with marijuana, cocaine and hashish. They also seized close to $185,000 in cash and nine vehicles.

Following the arrests police launched a nine-month investigation into Decker and Garnett's financial activities.

"This is a very significant seizure," said Sgt. Duane Cooper of the Integrated Proceeds of Crime unit.

"The message is crime doesn't pay."

Decker and Garnett will appear in Halifax provincial court Thursday.

All the seized goods will be held until the cases work their way through the courts. If Decker and Garnett are found guilty, the items will be sold at auction and the money turned over to the federal treasury.
