Two people are in custody after officers with the Canada Border Services Agency swarmed two homes in Halifax Wednesday morning.

Border Services confirmed two search warrants were executed this morning as part of an illegal weapons investigation.

About half a dozen officers were at a yellow home on Edinburgh Street.

At this point no charges have been laid. The federal agents have until Thursday morning to either charge the pair or release them.

When CBC called the home on Edinburgh Street, a woman said she had no idea why officers searched the residence.
