Police have five people in custody in connection with a home invasion, and car theft from an 81-year-old man.
At about 1 a.m. today, Halifax Regional Police and the RCMP executed search warrants at three homes in North Preston. They arrested two 15-year-olds, two 16-year-olds and one 18-year-old, all males.
Staff Sgt. Reid McCombs said the five haven't been interviewed yet.
"Once the interview has been completed, then a decision will be made about what, if any, charges will be laid, and against who," said McCombs.
Two teens knocked on the man's door in Dartmouth on Wednesday. When he opened the door, one of them produced a handgun, and forced the man toward the basement. He pushed the man down and stole his car keys.
His car was found abandoned Thursday on Whynder Lake Road in North Preston.
The 81-year-old victim was shaken and sore after his experience, his wife told CBC.
