Police have charged 43-year-old Mark Anthony Whitman of Tatamagouche with robbery after a July 6 incident at a Scotiabank in Pugwash, N.S.

Whitman was arrested in Montreal last Friday without incident and is being transported back to Nova Scotia.

The investigation revealed that a lone male entered the bank and passed the teller a note demanding cash. No weapon was seen and no one was hurt during the incident, police said in a release.

The suspect left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Whitman will appear in Amherst Provincial Court on Wednesday.
