Rash of fatal collisions on N.S. highways

A woman was kiklled in a collision with a tractor trailer. (CBC)A fatal collision has shut down the Trans Canada Highway, just past Antigonish.
It's the third fatal crash on Nova Scotia highways in the last 24 hours.
At about 6:30 a.m. RCMP responded to a call about a collision between a tractor trailer and a passenger car near exit 37.
The female driver of the car died at the scene. She was the only one in the vehicle. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
The highway is closed between Havre Boucher and Monastery until further notice. Traffic is being rerouted on Highway 4. The RCMP request that the motoring public allow extra time, or use an alternate route.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Yarmouth RCMP are investigating a collision between a motorcyclist and a deer last night that killed both the motorcyclist and the deer.
The incident happened at about 9:30 p.m., and it closed a road for several hours. At the request of family, the victim's name in that incident is being withheld.
And in new Victoria, Cape Breton, a motorcyclist was killed when he hit a power pole about 7:40 p.m. Thursday.
