The province still hasn't got the assets of the Bluenose Preservation Trust Society, despite claims two weeks ago that the trust was wrapping up its operations.
The province has been fighting with the trust for years, to get control of the $1.4 million in cash and assets, and the intellectual property that accompanies it.
Two weeks ago, Wilfrid Moore, the head of the trust, said the transfer of assets in relation to the Bluenose II store in Lunenburg was complete, and the rest would be done in a few weeks. The store closed suddenly last week.
Culture and Heritage Minister Leonard Preyra blames the delay on Moore.
Preyra said Moore has been "doing this dance of 1,000 veils with us for seven years, and each time there's a new set of conditions and each time there are fewer documents disclosed."
A deal to transfer the assets from the Bluenose II Preservation Trust Society to the Schooner Bluenose Foundation was struck in 2010.
That was delayed by concerns that taxes would take a big chunk of the money, Moore has said.
Preyra said the tussle over the assets will have no bearing on when the schooner will be relaunched. That is expected to happen later in the summer.
