Giant headphones returned to Halifax bus shelter

Giant headphones stolen from a south end bus stop were returned, a little worse for wear.
Just as mysteriously as they disappeared, a pair of giant headphones reappeared Friday on the bus stop from which there were taken.
The expensive pair of giant headphones was a little worse for wear, showing some damage.
Const. Holly Smith said she doesn't expect charges to be laid.
"We were very happy to have a report that the mysterious headphones that had gone have been miraculously returned," she said.
She said a the owners of the promotional headphones, the Dairy Farmers of Canada, were "just happy to have them back. At this point, it's not believed that there will be any charges pending."
The headphones — measuring 1.5 metres high and 1.5 metres wide — had been put over a bus shelter near the corner of South Street and Tower Road as part of a campaign advertising free workout music.
A spokeswoman for the Dairy Farmers of Canada told CBC News the headphones are worth $12,000.
Because of the size of the headphones, Halifax Regional Police say they believe two or more people were responsible for the deed.
The theft was reported by a passerby and is believed to have happened sometime between the end of May and the first week of June.
