Snow is expected for many parts of Nova Scotia Thursday into Friday morning. (CBC)Nova Scotia is in for some more winter weather as snow is expected to come Thursday night into Friday morning.
There are snowfall warnings in effect for Shelburne, Baccaro Point, Digby, Brier Island, Western Head, Liverpool, Lunenburg, Bridgewater and Yarmouth.
"Highest snowfall amounts will be in Yarmouth and Shelburne counties where 20 to 30 centimetres can be expected before the snow ends there Friday morning," said CBC meteorologist Peter Coade.
Most of the snow will be in the hours between 6 p.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday, Coade said, and the snow is expected to taper off as the storm centre heads to the south.
"From Halifax over to Windsor, 10 to 15 centimetres [are expected], it won't really get underway until later this evening," Coade said. "With the likelihood of another five centimetres before ending Friday afternoon."
In Halifax Regional Municipality, the parking ban is in effect from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. Friday.
About two to five centimetres are expected in northern Nova Scotia such as Cumberland and Colchester Counties, Pictou, Antigonish and Guysborough and even less for Cape Breton.
"The wind will also be a factor in the western counties, gusting to 50 to 60 km/h causing blizzard-like conditions at times in open, exposed areas," Coade added.
