An agreement in principle has been reached on a collective agreement between Labatt Breweries of Canada and unionized workers at Oland Brewery in Halifax.

The 130 unionized workers at Oland Brewery are expected to meet later on Wednesday to review the latest contract offer that union leaders are recommending be accepted.

Voting could begin later on Wednesday.

"Both sides worked very hard and obviously in negotiations, there's give and take on both sides," said Wade Keller, a spokesman for Oland Brewery.

"Now we're hopeful that the union membership will vote on the contract and accept the contract."

A previous offer from the employer was overwhelmingly rejected over the weekend.
