The principal at Avon View High School in Windsor is facing five more sex crime charges.

Doug Keyes, 51, now faces 10 charges including sexual assault, sexual touching and breach of trust.

He is also charged with using a computer system with intent to commit an offence and producing a false document. All the charges relate to one complainant.

A young man contacted police in November, alleging he was victimized by Keyes back in 1998.

Defence lawyer, Joel Pink, appeared on Keyes's behalf in Windsor provincial court Tuesday. He said his client intends to plead not guilty to the charges.

But, Pink said he needs more time to review the evidence against Keyes.

"There are basically statements from witnesses, or intended witnesses, that the police interviewed prior to laying the charges. This is not unusual in cases such as this, but we have to take a serious look at them and then decide where we go," he said.

The case is scheduled to be back in court on March 27. In the meantime, Keyes is on paid administrative leave until the court cases are heard.

Keyes, of Gypsum Mines, became principal at the school in August 2009.
