The premiers of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia held simultaneous press conferences Tuesday, urging Canadians to vote for the Bay of Fundy in the New7Wonders of Nature campaign. The Bay of Fundy is Canada's finalist in the competition.

"In tourism markets, the one thing that you're absolutely looking for is what sets you apart from every other place in the world," said Nova Scotia Premier Darrell Dexter.

"This is an opportunity to literally set New Brunswick and Nova Scotia apart as a tourism destination."

New Brunswick Premier David Alward asked Fundy fans to spread the word.

“We know that the Bay of Fundy is a natural wonder deserving of global recognition. So with just a few days remaining in the campaign, I encourage Canadians to spread the word with everyone they know and help increase the vote count for the Bay.”

Terri McCulloch, director of Bay of Fundy Tourism, expressed optimism about Fundy's chances.

“We know that we are receiving a high volume of votes from around the world. Our Bay of Fundy campaign was one of the most active in the competition. It has captivated national and international audiences," he said.

But the Bay of Fundy faces stiff competition. The 28 finalists include heavyweights like Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Australia.
