The parents of a missing New Glasgow woman held a news conference Tuesday to ask the public to come forward with any information they may have about their daughter, who has been missing since Oct. 9.
Donald and Marjorie Kirwan appeared briefly before the cameras at the New Glasgow Police Service to make a statement on the disappearance of their daughter Amber Kirwan. They were joined by New Glasgow police Const. Ken Macdonald.
They did not take any questions.
Marjorie Kirwan said that their daughter is "beautiful" inside and out, and the family looks foward to seeing her again.
"For weeks now, we have been praying that any day now she will be home. We miss her and love her very much. We are requesting the public to come forward with any information they may have regarding our missing daughter, no matter how small or irrelevant they may think the information is," she said.
"Come forward and let the police decide if the information is relevant to the investigation."
Amber Kirwan has been missing for three weeks. (New Glasow Police handout)Amber Kirwan, 19, has been missing since leaving Dooly's pool hall in New Glasgow at about 1: 30 a.m. on Oct. 9 . She was walking to a nearby convenience store to meet her boyfriend, Mason Campbell, who said she never showed up.
Campbell has been interviewed twice by police about her disappearance, and his car was seized. The couple had lived together for four months.
Search and rescue crews began looking for Kirwan the day after her disappearance, but have failed to find any clues. Police released a security video showing her outside the pool hall, and then walking down the street.
On Friday, as deer hunting season began, police asked hunters in the area to be aware of their surroundings.
