An 83-year-old man found dead outside his Nova Scotia home Sunday likely fell as a snowstorm blanketed the area, RCMP say.
Annapolis RCMP officers and paramedics were called to a home in Cornwallis after neighbours found the man lying in the snow Sunday afternoon.
RCMP said the man, who was last seen in his home at about 5 p.m. Saturday, may have been caught out in the storm overnight.
No foul play is suspected. An autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death.
The man's name has not been released.
Two other deaths in the Maritimes have been linked to the storm, which brought heavy snow, freezing rain and high winds over the weekend.
In Three Fathom Harbour, N.S., a 54-year-old man is believed to have succumbed to carbon monoxide fumes Sunday from a generator used for heat during a power outage. In Stratford, P.E.I., a woman was struck and killed by a snow-removal vehicle in a parking lot.
