No one was hurt in the Hooters fire. (CBC)An arson investigation is underway at the scorched Hooters restaurant in Dartmouth.
Fire officials have concluded that Thursday morning's blaze was deliberately set, Halifax Regional Police said.
Officers guarded the scene at 120 Main St. overnight. Members of the police department's general investigative unit were expected to head to the restaurant at daybreak Friday.
No one was hurt in the 7 a.m. fire, which gutted the restaurant and left it looking like "the inside of a wood stove," according to one fire official.
Platoon chief Chuck Bezanson of the Halifax regional fire service told reporters Thursday that it appears the blaze started near a waitress station on the main floor.
There have been several fires at this site over the years, but none since the Hooters opened in 2008.
