Swine flu hits Canadian Forces Tattoo performers

Four members of the Canadian Forces performing at the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo in Halifax are sick with the swine flu, and five others may have the disease.
The military said Thursday that four cases among its members have been confirmed, and samples from the other five are still being tested.
On Wednesday, the Canadian Forces screened all of its members performing at the Tattoo after three people, all civilians, fell ill with swine flu, also known as the H1N1 flu virus. At the time, they said another eight military performers had flu-like symptoms.
Two military members from out of town who tested positive are now in isolation at Windsor Park. The rest are from Nova Scotia and are recovering at home.
The floor of the Metro Centre was turned into a makeshift clinic Wednesday as testing began on 400 members of the Canadian military and 250 from international forces.
Performers filled out a questionnaire and had their temperature taken. Swabs were also taken in some cases.
