Stephanie McVicar will be nothing if not battle-tested when she takes the ice for the women's final at the Canadian junior curling championships.

The Saskatchewan skip capped off a manic Saturday by scoring two in the 10th and final end to beat Nova Scotia's Danielle Parsons 8-7 in the semifinal in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.

It was the third win of the day for McVicar, who edged Alberta 8-7 and Northern Ontario 6-5 in earlier tiebreakers.

Manitoba's Kaitlyn Lawes, who earned a bye through the playoffs by finishing first in the round-robin standings at 10-2, will face McVicar in Sunday's final (CBC, 12 p.m. ET).

On the men's side, Ontario's Travis Fanset advanced to the final with a 4-3 win over Prince Edward Island's Brett Gallant.

Fanset knocked off Saskatchewan's Brennen Jones 7-2 in a tiebreaker earlier Saturday to advance to the semifinal.

Fanset will meet Quebec's William Dion, who topped the round-robin at 10-2, in Sunday's final (CBC, 1:30 p.m. ET).
