A high school in Cape Breton was evacuated Wednesday after an electrical fire broke out.
Fire officials were called to Riverview Rural High School, near Sydney, just before noon.
Karl Campbell, chief of the Coxheath volunteer fire department, said school staff told the crew there was a fire in an electrical panel.
"We went up with our extinguisher, cut power off, put the fire out with the extinguisher and then ventilated the building," he said.
There were no reports of injuries.
Campbell said the panel has to be repaired and inspected before classes can resume.
Nearly 1,000 students in Grades 10 to 12 attend Riverview High.
