2 arrested after man shot in back

Two men are in police custody and a third is in critical condition in a Halifax hospital after being shot in the back.

The shooting happened Wednesday night outside a home in Green Oaks, near Truro.

RCMP Const. Krista Myers said the 42-year-old man was shot once or possibly even twice in his lower back.

"He crawled in and was able to get to his phone and call for help," she said.

Officers investigating a car crash in nearby Green Creek later arrested two men and seized a shotgun.

The two men were still being questioned Thursday afternoon and no charges had been laid.

Myers said the three men knew each other.
