Police say someone used a stolen car to smash into the front door of a pawn shop in Dartmouth early Wednesday.

Halifax Regional Police were called to the Platinum Pawn Shop on Main Street at about 2:30 a.m.

Police said no one was in the car when officers arrived. They tracked the vehicle and determined that it had been stolen from Lower Sackville.

Police said they don't know yet if anything was taken from the shop.

This is the second time in less than a month that someone used a vehicle to smash into a store in Dartmouth.

On Dec. 17, a car was rammed into the front door and window of the Mighty Small Cars store on Windmill Road.

The owner of that business said thieves took thousands of dollars worth of remote-controlled cars and other toys.
