Man, 20, in hospital after Dartmouth baseball bat, knife attack

A 20-year-old man is in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a stabbing and home invasion in Dartmouth early Friday evening, police say.

A 17-year-old was arrested and released without charges, police say

A man is in hospital and expected to recover from his injuries after a stabbing and home invasion in Dartmouth early Friday evening, police say. 

A number of people forced their way into the victim's apartment on Lakefront Road in Dartmouth.

"One suspect brandished a baseball bat and another a knife,"  Sgt. Jeff Carr said in a release. The suspects fled after the victim was stabbed during the altercation.

Police found the 20-year-old victim when they arrived at the scene around 7:20 p.m, Carr said.

Search for suspects

A 17-year-old male teen was arrested on Trinity Avenue but later released without charges.

The attack is not considered random, Carr said. 

The victim had his cell phone and other personal items stolen.
