At least some students are enjoying all the rain: dozens of schools across Nova Scotia are closed for the day.

All classes in the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board are cancelled because of the weather. Heavy rains overnight have created slippery driving conditions in the area. Classes at Etoile D'Acadie are also cancelled.

River Hebert District High School in the Chignecto Central Regional School Board is closed due to a water leak and the Weymouth Consolidated Elementary School is closed due to what it’s calling an “operational issue.”

Students at Halifax West High School have another day off.  The school has been without power since late last week when the main switch failed. The school board says it will provide another update later on Tuesday.

The Chedabucto Education Centre-Guysborough Academy bus route 412 is cancelled along with bus route 323 in Antigonish.

Other buses in the Strait Regional School Board are travelling on paved roads only today.
