Soccer coach's sexual assault sentencing postponed
The sentencing of Stan Lowther, a former youth soccer coach, on a charge of sexual assault has been postponed.
The 39-year-old admitted to abusing a girl for six years, starting when she was 12.
She cannot be identified.
Lowther's lawyer has asked for a sex offender assessment of his client, after reading a pre-sentence report.
The Crown is seeking a prison term of between four and eight years.
The charges are not related to his soccer coaching.
Last December, after he was charged, Lowther resigned from coaching boys' soccer at the Halifax Christian Academy and Halifax County United.
He has one prior conviction for assault causing bodily harm.
