Fire destroyed a home in Shelburne, N.S., Wednesday night.

Edgar Allison, chief of the Shelburne fire department, said the fire ripped through a big three-storey home at 32 Morvan Road.

Fire crews arrived at 9:30 p.m. amid reports two people were still inside. The people escaped before crews started fighting the fire.

“There were flames coming out everywhere. It took us six hours to get that under control,” Allison said.

The two occupants suffered smoke inhalation and minor burns.  Firefighters left at 3:30 a.m. when the blaze was under control.

Allison said they don’t know what caused the fire yet, but he does not believe it's suspicious.
