RCMP have launched a homicide investigation after two bodies were found at the site of a fire earlier this week near Sheet Harbour.

Police confirmed the deaths as homicides on Friday.

The bodies of the two men were found Wednesday afternoon when police and firefighters responded to a 911 call of a burning building on Highway 374.

The building is described as a cottage or hunting camp. The bodies were discovered in the rubble.

RCMP have not yet released the names of the two men.
