Romans Avenue drive-by shooting sends youth to hospital

Halifax police are searching for a suspect in a drive-by shooting that sent a teenaged boy to the hospital on Friday night.

Officers got a call around 7:20 p.m. that a vehicle had been shot at the intersection of Romans and Federal avenues by someone in another vehicle.

The teen passenger was hit in the arm.

His vehicle left the scene and drove to the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax.

He was treated for minor injuries. Police said he's expected to be released from hospital on Friday night.

Police are still trying to track down a suspect and the second vehicle.
