Richard Lee Hartlin, wanted on Canada-wide warrant, arrested
Hartlin sought by police after failing to return to a halfway house in Halifax last week
Police arrested Richard Lee Hartlin and another suspect after a robbery Monday afternoon on Quinpool Road.
Hartlin, 38, was wanted on a Canada-wide arrest warrant after failing to return to a halfway house in Halifax last week.
At 2:55 p.m. Monday, Halifax Regional Police were called to the Atlantic Superstore on Quinpool Road after a man entered the store, approached a cashier with a note saying he had a weapon and demanded cash.
The cashier gave the man some cash and he ran away from the store.
A short time later, Hartlin and another man were arrested on Gottingen Street near Cornwallis. Police say both men are believed to be involved in Monday afternoon's robbery.
Police also say Hartlin is a person of interest in two recent robberies: one at a Sobeys store on Windsor Street on Wednesday and another at a Herring Cove Road gas station on Saturday.
In both cases, police say a man who claimed to be armed held-up the businesses.
