A 48-year-old Cape Breton man has been charged with possessing, accessing and distributing child pornography after Cape Breton Regional Police Service seized several items from a Reserve Mines home.

The case is the result of a joint investigation between members of the CBRPS and the Toronto Police Service. Police say they gathered evidence that led them to search a home in Reserve Mines, Cape Breton.

Police said several items were seized during the search, resulting in the arrest of the 48-year-old man.

The accused appeared in Sydney Provincial Court on Tuesday. He was released on conditions and is scheduled to be back in court Jan. 7.
