An RCMP officer stationed in Port Hawkesbury is facing impaired driving charges stemming from a single vehicle collision two months ago.
Police said they found Const. Stacey MacRae trapped in car along Highway 19 near Long Point on Sept. 21. The off-duty officer was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said her blood alcohol concentration was more than 80 milligrams.
MacRae has been with the RCMP for seven years. She was involved in establishing an Inverness RCMP Youth Advisory Committee last year.
The Mounties said she's on administrative leave with pay.
She'll appear in a provincial court in Port Hawkesbury in January.
