An RCMP officer and an 18-year-old suspect were sent to hospital early Saturday morning after the teen allegedly drove head-on into a police vehicle following a pursuit in the Truro area.

Police say in a news release that around 4:30 a.m. a vehicle was spotted being driven “aggressively” around the Bible Hill RCMP detachment, across lawns and through ditches.

Police chased the vehicle into Truro and then onto Highway 102. RCMP say the vehicle was being driven dangerously and posed a risk to the public.

The teen was arrested after he crashed into an RCMP vehicle in Stewiacke. The suspect and an officer were taken to hospital with injuries that were not life threatening.

The officer has been released and the teen is now in police custody.
