The fifth annual Halifax Hopscotch Festival has booked Grammy-nominated, five-time Billboard Music Award-winning rapper Lil Jon for a concert this September.

Also headlining the festival is rapper Tech N9ne.

"Lil Jon has collaborated with world-renowned artists, including Usher and rapper Ice Cube. He currently holds the No. 1 spot on the Billboard charts for dance/electronic song of the year with his hit, 'Turn Down for What,' which has been at the top for seven weeks now," said Billy Comer, speaking for the city in a news release.

"He will be joined by co-headliner Tech N9ne, who has sold more than two million albums worldwide and has been featured on hit albums with Eminem, Snoop Dogg and many more."

The Hopscotch Festival runs from Sept. 26 to 28 and features a variety of dance, music and art presentations on the Halifax and Dartmouth waterfronts.

The festival will wrap up with the Lil Jon and Tech N9ne concert at the Cunard Centre on Sept. 28.

Tickets go on sale July 30.
