Porters Lake man charged after 2 bomb threats
RCMP say there were no bombs and a man faces charges of uttering threats
A 70-year-old man from Porters Lake is due in court in Dartmouth later today after two bomb threats Wednesday night.
The first bomb threat was made at about 8 p.m. at a local dollar store.
Staff left as a precaution while police were on their way.
The Halifax RCMP reports there was another 911 call a short time later.
A man said he was going to blow up his apartment in a seniors complex in Porters Lake.
Twenty-five people were ordered out of their units while the building was checked.
There were no bombs and everyone returned to their apartments a short time later.
Police say they arrested the man without incident.
He spent the night in custody and faces charges of uttering threats.
