A 70-year-old man from Porters Lake is due in court in Dartmouth later today after two bomb threats Wednesday night.

The first bomb threat was made at about 8 p.m. at a local dollar store.

Staff left as a precaution while police were on their way.

The Halifax RCMP reports there was another 911 call a short time later.

A man said he was going to blow up his apartment in a seniors complex in Porters Lake.

Twenty-five people were ordered out of their units while the building was checked.

There were no bombs and everyone returned to their apartments a short time later.

Police say they arrested the man without incident.

He spent the night in custody and faces charges of uttering threats.
