Police name young victim in Sydney River collision

Police have released the name of a young man who died after a crash between a car and dump truck on Highway 125 just outside of Sydney on Friday morning.

Police have released the name of a young man who died after a crash on Highway 125 just outside of Sydney Thursday morning.

Christopher Anthony Rudnicki, 23, of Sydney Mines died in hospital after his car collided head on with a dump truck.

The impact was so severe the dump truck was tipped onto its side and the entire engine block of the car was destroyed.

The driver of the dump truck was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Police have not updated his condition.

Police are still investigating what lead to the crash.
