Pedestrian hit in north-end Halifax crosswalk, driver ticketed
Second pedestrian-vehicle collision in 24 hours
Halifax Regional Police are investigating a pedestrian-vehicle collision in a marked crosswalk in the north end of the city — the second in the last 24 hours.
Police were called to the intersection of Northwood Terrace and Black Street at 12:07 p.m. on Wednesday.
A 30-year-old man crossing Northwood Terrace was hit by a vehicle turning left from Black Street. He was treated at the scene by emergency crews.
A 23-year-old Halifax woman was ticketed with failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. The ticket carries a fine of $687.41 and four points from the person's licence upon conviction.
On Tuesday evening, a man was slightly injured when he was hit in a marked crosswalk in Clayton Park.
