Nova Scotia Progressive Conservative Leader Jamie Baillie accepted his party’s nomination Saturday night in Cumberland South and says the Tories are ready for an election whenever one is called.
He said his party will have more newcomers running compared to the Liberals or the New Democratic Party.
"We're well over 30, at the moment, and when the time shortly comes where we've nominated all of them, more than 85 per cent of our candidates will be running on a ballot for the first time," he said.
Baillie says the candidates lack of political testing is made up for by their real-world experience.
"Their experience comes from the real world, not from the political world. That, I believe, is the kind of change Nova Scotians want," he said.
He said Nova Scotians are eager for change and bringing fresh faces on board is a way of achieving that.
